Phoebe Draper Palmer Brown was born 9 October 1797 in Rome, Oneida County, New York to William Draper (1774-1854) and Lydia Lathrop (1775-1846) and died 28 February 1879 Draper, Salt Lake County, Utah of unspecified causes. She married George Palmer (1795-1833) 8 April 1815 in Cramahe, Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada.
Biography
Phebe Draper was a veteran of the Mormon Battalion (marching alongside her 2nd husband in Co. A) and also with her son Zemira Palmer (1831-1880), a 15-year old officer's servant on the Battalion Staff.
Immediately afterwards, she and her family were the first settler's in what is now the town of Draper, Utah and she is the namesake for that town.
Ancestry
Through her mother, Lydia Lathrop (1775-1846), she is a direct descendant of famous early New England puritan immigrant, Rev. John Lathrop who has many noteworthy descendants in America.
