Priscilla Weigall was born 1914 in England, United Kingdom to William Ernest George Archibald Weigall (1874-1952) and Grace Emily Blundell Maple (1876-1950) and died 1996 England, United Kingdom of unspecified causes. She married Edward Curzon, 6th Earl Howe (1908-1984) 23 July 1935 in St Paul's Cathedral, London, Greater London, England, United Kingdom. She married Harold (Camel) Coriat (-1972) 1942 .
British socialite, youngest of four children (all by different fathers) of the heiress to the Maple Furnishing fortune.
She was "raised like a precious household plant, not prepared for life in the real world at all" and had not ridden in a public bus or train until after she was married. However, she was aware of how other people lived, and became quite passionate "at the plight of Welsh mining villages in the early 1930s". (Page 200 of the Tovey book.) Her father "encouraged her to take an interest in politics. When she was a schoolgirl, he would bring her into his study to meet his friends. As well as Tories, she met and grew to respect politicians such as Ernest Bevin, Herbert Morrison and Aneurin Bevan." She became a socialist later in life. (Page 201)
Cecil Beaton made a portrait of her, before her first marriage.
She had a very high regard for her mother's friend Elidor Campbell, telling her half-sister (Elidor's daughter) in 1975: "Heather, he was a dear man, quiet but charming, someone I especially liked. Of all the hordes of people, he was my favourite. He was so gentle and patient, always the same, different as chalk and cheese to Mummy's temperament.[1]"
