Rachel Crosby Stearns was born 18 April 1695 in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts to Joseph Crosby (1669-1759) and Sarah French (1671-1727) and died 18 January 1757 Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. She married Samuel Stearns (1693-1730) 1714 in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. She married Thomas Wyman (1687-1760) 1730 in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
Father's 1736 Court Petition
Middlesex County Court, August 31, 1736, p. 35. A petition of Joseph Crosby of Billerica, in the County of Middlesex, Taylor, showing that the petitioner is aged 68 and upward, and has for some time past been unable to support himself by business of any sort. That he has five sons now living, viz: David Crosby of Shrewsbury, Joseph of Worcester, both of the County of Worcester, William and Thomas, both of the town of Billerica, and Robert of Northtown, all living in the County of Middlesex; as also six daughter now living, viz: Sarah, the wife of Ephraim Abbot of Andover, in the County of Essex; Rachel Crosby (1695-1757), the wife of Thomas Wyman Billerica aforesmentioned; Mary, the wife of Eleazer Ellis of Dedham; Prudence, the wife of Jeremiah Fisher of Needham, both in the County of Suffolk; Deborah the wife of Peter Russell of Andover aforesaid, and Hannah the wife of ----Watts of Boston, to amongst whom to set them well forth in the world the Petitioner has distributed his lands and estate to the value of several thousand of poundsas he accounts, not reserving to himself anything competent for his subsistence, nor being able to do it by his own work and labour; and therefore praying this Court would take the premises into their consideration and to direct that the Petitioner may be maintained and relieved by his respective children or their husbands (being of sufficient ability), as the Province Law therein directs and that they may be respectively asscessed thereto as the Court in their great wisdom shall see meet, and in order thereto they be properly cited to appear before this Court to answer the premises, etc.

Because of the aforementioned petition (1736) it looks like Rachel married twice. After the death of Samuel Stearns in 1730, she quickly remarried to Thomas Wyman.
