Deacon Ralph Wheelock was born 12 February 1682 in Mendon, Worcester County, Massachusetts to Eleazer Wheelock (1654-1731) and Elizabeth Fuller (1645-1698) and died 24 October 1748 Hebron, Tolland County, Connecticut of unspecified causes. He married Ruth Huntington (1682-1725) 8 January 1708 in Windham, Windham County, Connecticut.
Biography
Dea. Ralph Wheelock, s. of Capt. Eleazer Wheelock and Elizabeth Fuller, b. of record Feb. 12, 1682/3 at Mendon, Mass. Although his gravestone says he died on Oct. 24, 1748, there is an obvious problem with this date (see discussion below.) As the Hebron, Conn. town records say he died on Oct. 15, 1748, Æ 66, this later date is used as the basis of his date of death.
Marriage and Family
1st Marriage : Ruth Huntington
On Jan. 8, 1707/8, prob. at Norwich but recorded at Windham, Conn., Dea. Wheelock m. 1) Ruth Huntington, dau. of Dea. Christopher Huntington & his 1st wife Sarah Adgate, b. Nov. 28, 1682 at Norwich, Conn. She d. at Windham, Conn. Aug. 31, 1725, Æ 43. They had six children of record at Windham who are outlined in their mother's memorial.
Ruth Huntington was the eldest dau. of her parents. Although not the writer's direct ancestor, Ruth shares descent with the writer from three different sets of New England immigrants. Her husband, Dea. Ralph Wheelock, shares with the writer descent from a separate set of immigrant ancestors.
2nd Marriage: Mercy Standish
On Sept. 30, 1726 of record at Windham, Conn., Dea. Wheelock m. 2) Mercy Standish, dau. of Lieut. Josiah Standish & his 2nd wife Sarah Allen. Mercy was the gr.dau. of Capt. Myles Standish of the Plymouth Colony and 1620 Mayflower. She was b. prob. at Duxbury, Mass. and d. per her gravestone Nov. 4, 1746 at Windham, Conn., but this date of death is an obvious error. They had the following child of record at Windham, Conn.:
• vii. Mary Wheelock, b. Nov. 26, 1728 (bapt. Jan. 12, 1728/9); m. Dec. 29, 1746 at Windham, Jabez Bingham, Jr., s. of Jabez Bingham and Bethiah Wood. Four known children of the family. They resided at Salisbury, Conn. at the tri-state border of Conn., Mass. and NY.

Based on Ralph's known date of birth, on the day he actually died (Oct. 15, 1748) he was 65 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of his Age) 66.
