Rhoda Lapham Harris was born 27 April 1759 in Gloucester, Providence County, Rhode Island, United States to Solomon Lapham (1730-1800) and Sylvia Silence Lapham (1731-1805) and died 11 October 1849 Mentor, Lake County, Ohio, United States of unspecified causes. She married Nathan Harris (1758-1835) 1780 in Smithfield, Providence County, Rhode Island.

Many of Rhoda's relatives moved from MA and RI in the early settlement of Palmrya and vicinity. ​

Rhoda's great-grandfather is John Lapham III. Her distant cousin Abigail Lapham shares the same great-grandfather John Lapham III. Abigail, wife of Nathan Aldrich LCR9-326 migrated to Farmington, NY, 5 miles from the land Nathan Harris purchased in early 1790s, just after the Aldriches moved there.

Rhoda's Nephew Aretus Lapham 1789-1869 LCR9-45V also migrated to Palmrya early on. Other Laphams who also moved to Ontario, NY who were decended from John Lapham III were Abraham and Asa Lapham. Abraham was one of the original settlers of Farmington, NY near Palmyra.
