Rhoda was born in 1762. She married Jonas Putnam before 1779. Jonas appeared in the census in 1790 in Saratoga Springs, Albany County, New York. The census information is 2-2-2. Jonas appeared in the census in 1800 in Scipio, Cayuga County, New York. The census information is 01101-00101. Jonas died sometime between 1800 and 1810 and Rhoda moved to Chautauqua County in 1808 with her children. The burial places of Rhoda and her children is Lewis Cemetery in Ellery, Chautauqua County, New York. The headstones for John and Ephron Putnam still stand but the grave of Rhoda Putnam is now gone. Lorraine Carlson Smith, a resident of Ellery, states that the Lewis Cemetery fell into disrepair and that The American Legion cleaned out the Lewis Cemetery around 1933. Apparently many old stones were destroyed or otherwise discarded during the cleanup of the site. Although Rhoda Putnam's headstone is now lost, it was recorded to have read, "Rhoda, wife of Jonas Putnam, died July 18th, 1825, age 63."
