Richenza von Dithmarschen was born circa 1045 to Etheler von Dithmarschen and Ida von Elsdorf (c1027-c1074) and died circa 1092 of unspecified causes. She married Egilmar I von Oldenburg (c1040-1108) .
Research Notes
The wire of the 1st Count of Oldenburg, Egilmar I von Oldenburg (c1040-1108), Richenza (also called Rikissa or Rixa) was the daughter of Dedi or Adalger, [1] and according to the same source, her mother was Ida von Elsdorf (c1027-c1074)
These Annales Stadenses also record that "Rikencen, filie Ide de Elthrope" was the wife of "comes Eilmari de Aldenburg").
Family Ancestry
According to Albert of Stade, Ida of Elthorp was the "niece of an emperor and a pope". It was argued that Ida's father was the brother of Emperor Henry III and Ida's mother was the sister of Pope Leo IX (whose secular name was Bruno). But these family ties have challenged royal genealogists for decades.
Likewise, there are doubts about Richenza's father, since her mother was married three times. Her father Dedi or Dedo was probably the Saxon Count Palatine Dedi of Goseck, who was murdered in 1056. Richenza would then have been a niece of his brother Archbishop Adalbert of Bremen (1043–1072), the local archdiocese, which would have favored the rise of her husband House of Oldenburg.
