Ruth born 1840 was the twelfth child of James Stickler and Sarah Angell. She never married and died at twenty five at the Union Workhouse, Pucklechurch and was buried in Pucklechurch on 12 June 1865. Her imprisonment and subsequent death in the Workhouse (poorhouse) suggests the James Stickler's family was poor and unable to help Ruth to avoid her fate in the Pucklechurch poorhouse.
