Síl nÁedo Sláine is the name of the "seed" or descendants of Áed Sláine (Áed Sláine mac Diarmato), son of Diarmait mac Cerbaill. Part of the Southern Uí Néill — they were the kings of Brega (Meath) — they traced their descent to Niall Noígiallach and his son Conall Cremthainne.

Related kindreds descended through Conall Cremthainne and Diarmait mac Cerbaill included the Clann Cholmáin, the kings of Uisnech, descended from Áed Sláine's elder brother Colmán Már, and the less important Clann Cholmáin Bicc (or the Caílle Follamain), descendants of the middle brother, Colmán Bec.

Prominent in early times, the Síl nÁedo Sláine were of minor importance in the 8th and 9th centuries.
