Salcea is a town in Suceava County, northeastern Romania. The town incorporates the former villages of Mereni, Plopeni și Văratec (which became a neighborhoods of the town in 2004). It also administers the village of Prelipca (with the status of associated village).
Salcea was declared a town in 2004.
The town is located at about 11 kilometers east of Suceava and it is best known for the Suceava Airport located nearby.
