Sarah Munson was born in approximately 1730. Her origins, and the names of her parents and siblings are not currently known, but it is likely that she is the daughter of Roger Munson of Langham, baptised on 11th October 1730. If this is the case, then her siblings are Elizabeth, Roger and Ruth.

Munson is a known surname in the Beaumont Parish District of Essex.

Marriage[]

Sarah married James Mills on the 7th November 1754 at Ardleigh, Essex. His origins are unknown and he was described as a widower at the marriage. Witnesses to the marriage were Roger Munson and Thomas Barker.

Where the couple settled is not quite known, but it is beleived to be somewhere in the broader Beaumont district of Essex, most likely Ardleigh. This is determined by a settlement certificate later to be found in the possession of their one and only known child, Munson. There are likely to be siblings of Munson we are not yet aware of.

Husband James died and was buried on 10th December 1777 in Ardleigh, Essex. Sarah would outlive him by 5 years.
