Sarah Putnam was born 4 September 1654 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts, United States to John Putnam (1627-1710) and Rebecca Prince (1627-1704) . She married John Hutchinson (1643-1676) July 1672 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts, United States.
A history of the Putnam family in England and America (page 29) says:
- 26 Sarah, b. 4 Sept., 1654; m. July, 1672, John, son of Richard and
- Alice (Bosworth) Hutchinson of Danvers, b. there May, 1643;
- d. 2 Aug., 1676. Ch. : Sarah, m. Deacon Joseph Whipple.
