- How can Jannetje possibly be her mother at 5 years old?
- The age on the tombstone is probably incorrect. I believe she was born 1758, which is consistent with her age range as it appears in both the 1830 and 1840 census. Also, given that Sarah was the mother of Rebecca (Rippeth) Watkins, who was born about 1810, a birth date for Sarah earlier than 1758 would be unlikely, as even with the 1758 birth date, she had to have given birth to Rebecca at age 52. Rebecca is listed as under 20 in the 1840 census, in the household of Asa Watkins in Orange Township. Asa and Rebecca already had 1 boy and 1 girl, as they were married in 1827.
