Sartak (or Sartaqk, Sartach, Mongolian: Сартаг, Template:Lang-tt) Khan (c1225-1256) was the son of Batu Khan and Borakshin Khatun of Alchi Tatar.[2] Sartak succeeded Batu Khan as khan of the Golden Horde.
In 1252, Aleksandr Nevsky met with Sartak at Sarai. Aleksandr Nevsky received the yarlyk (license) to become Grand Prince of Vladimir-Suzdal in vassalage to theKipchak Khanate. According to Lev Gumilev he became Sartak's anda (sworn brother, probably akin to blood brother) and an adopted son of Batu Khan.[3]
Sartak's reign as khan of the Golden Horde was short-lived. He died in 1256 before returning from Möngke Khan's court in Karakorum, less than one year after his father, probably having been poisoned by his uncles Berke Khan and Berkhchir. Sartak was succeeded by his son Ulaghchi Khan briefly in 1257, before his uncle Berke Khan succeeded to the throne.
Sartak's daughter Feodora Sartakovna (c1240-1273) was the wife of Gleb Vasilkovich Prince of Beloozero, a grandson of Konstantin Vsevolodovich of Rostov.
