The body of Mr. S. R. Blackman, 62, of Wattle Springs Station, Coonabarabran, who died in Sydney, on Wednesday, was buried at Coonabarabran, on Friday, with Masonic honors.

He and his brothers, Alfred and Sonny, were prominent amateur riders in their day. Deceased used to ride for Mr. Hugh McMaster, of Premer Station, and owned Noreen when it won the Sydney Cup.

The Blackman family is one of the oldest and most highly esteemed in the Mudgee district.

The founders were among the earliest settlers, and they left an honored name behind them.

Deceased was widely known and respected right throughout the Mudgee and Castlereagh districts, and deep regret will be expressed at his death.
