Simeon Bigelow was born 12 April 1752 in Acton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts to John Bigelow (1715-1787) and Grace Allen (1719-1785) and died 13 July 1837 Brandon, Rutland County, Vermont of unspecified causes. He married Sarah Foster (1760-1789) 10 September 1780 in Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth Avery (1764-1804) 14 March 1790 in Brandon, Rutland County, Vermont. He married Sarah Bump (1764-1856) 21 July 1804 in Brandon, Rutland County, Vermont.

From The Genealogy of the Bigelow Family of America by Gilman Bigelow Howe, published 1890) SIMEON BIGELOW of Brandon, Vt., son of John and Grace (Allen) Bigelow, was born in Acton, Mass., April 12, 1752, and married in Ashburnham, Dec. 14, 1780, Sarah Foster. She was born April 14, 1760, and died in Brandon, Vt., Feb., 1789. He married second, March 14, 1790, Elizabeth Avery of Brandon. She was born Oct. 81 17641 and died April 21, 1804. He married third, July 21, 1804, Mrs. Sarah Avery, widow of Simeon Avery. She was born April 18, 1764, and died in Galway, N. Y. He died in Brandon, Vt., July 13, 1887, aged 85 years. He served in the army during the Revolution.

After his first marriage he lived a short time in Conway, Mass., and then moved to Brandon, Vt., where he purchased a tract of land of 110 acres, Oct. 1, 1788; and again, Feb. 8, 1796, he purchased another tract of 110 acres. His children were:

  7. DANIEL POST, b. March 14, 1792; m. Betsey Knight.
  8. THIRZA, b. March 12, 1794; m. Jan., 1820, Jeffrey Amherst Bogue; b. July 24, 1790; d. May 24, 1860; she d. March 25, 1850.
  9. OLIVE, b. Feb. 7, 1796; m. Samuel Arnold of Brandon; d. in Brandon, Dec. 13, 1821.
  10. AUGUSTUS, b. Jan. 17, 1798; he was a physician and dentist, and lived for many years in New York State; d. in New York City
