Simon Crosby, Jr. was born 6 August 1637 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts to Simon Crosby (1609-1639) and Anna Brigham (1606-1675) and died 22 January 1725 Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. He married Rachel Brackett (1639-1725) 15 July 1659 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.

Simon Crosby, Jr. settled in Billerica in 1659 near Bare Hill where he became a land owner and inn keeper. He was permitted to keep a house of public entertainment on November 27, 1672, selling wine, beer, ale, cider, rum, brandy and other liquors. He was not permitted to have any persons in his house other than his own family on Saturdays after dark. The house was also a garrison house in 1675 during King Phillip's War. He was admitted a freeman in 1668 and was deputy to the general court in 1692 - 97-98. His will was proved in 1725-26.
His father died 1639 and his mother m. Rev. William Tompson of Braintree. He m. Rachel Bracket of Braintree in 1659 and settled in Billerica on the north side of Bare Hill. He became a large land-holder, inn-keeper, and leading citizen.
