He married Afra Bakker (1912-1965) 1 September 1939 in Wervershoof, North Holland, Netherlands.
He married his third cousin once removed, as both descend from Arien Klaver (1780-1855); and his fourth cousin, as both descend from David van der Gulik (1753-1832).
