Simon Stone was born 6 February 1585 in Great Bromley, Essex, England to David Stone (1568-1625) and Ursula Clark (1560-1597) and died 22 September 1665 Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. He married Joane Clark (1596-1675) 5 August 1615 in Great Bromley, Essex, England.
Biography
Simon Stone immigrated from England to New England in the early 1630's with his brother Gregory Stone. They settled near Watertown/Cambridge area, living less than one mile apart.

Watertown Founders Monument
He is listed on Watertown Founders Monument, commemorating the first settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts. The town was first known as Saltonstall Plantation, one of the earliest of the Massachusetts Bay Colony settlements. Founded in early 1630 by a group of settlers led by Richard Saltonstall and George Phillips, it was officially incorporated that same year. The alternate spelling "Waterton" is seen in some early documents.
