Sofya Dmitriyevna of Ryazan (Софья Дмитриевна, княгиня рязанская) was born circa 1373 to Dmitri Ivanovich Donskoy (1350-1389) and Yevdokiya Dmitriyevna (1352-1407) and died 1427 of unspecified causes.
Sofya Dmitriyevna (c1372-1427) is the eldest daughter of the Grand Prince of Moscow, Dmitri Donskoy and of Princess Yevdokiya Dmitriyevna.
Biography
Born around 1373 she married in 1387 Fyodor Olgovich, the Grand Prince of Ryazan. The marriage was concluded for political reasons. At that time Dmitri Donskoy was in conflict with had Oleg Ivanovich of Ryazan, who wanted to overthrow him from Moscow's throne. Oleg had helped Moscow in wars against Algirdas of Lithuania, then went with to war against Moscow. In December 1371, the Muscovites beat Ryazan, but [[Oleg was able to regain his throne. A truce was negotiated by Sergius of Radonezh, who skillfully dissuaded Oleg of Ryazan from continuing the war with Moscow. Subsequently, Ryazan and Moscow made peace, and Oleg agreed to the marriage of his son Fyodor Olegovich with Dmitry Donskoy's daughter - Sofya Dmitriyevna.
