Sophia Ellen Child was born 14 May 1867 in Lionsville, New South Wales, Australia to Benjamin Child (1828-1910) and Ellen Austen (1841-1879) and died 6 June 1942 Woolgoolga, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. She married Andrew Gosper (1861-1942) 24 November 1886 in Southampton, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
The death took place at her home in Woolgoolga on Saturday evening about 5.30 of Mrs. Sophia Ellen Gosper, wife of Mr. A. H. Gosper. Deceased, who was very well known in the district in which she had lived practically all her life, was 75 years of age.
She was a daughter of the late L. B. Childs, orchardist, of Copmanhurst road, and was born at Lionville. She married Mr. Andrew Henry Gosper, of Woolgoolga. Besides her husband she leaves a grown-up family of six children. They are: Arthur J. (Woolgoolga), Mrs. J. McLachlan (Corindi), Alfred E. (Hughenden. Qld.), Ephraim (Eumundi, Qld.), Harry (Woolgoolga) and Mrs. W. Morrison (North Arm, Qld.). Another daughter, Mrs. A. W. Tuckey, of Halfway Creek, predeceased her some months ago. The guneral left H. H. Sanders' Funeral Chapel yesterday afternoon, the interment taking place in the Methodist portion of the South Grafton cemetery. Rev. A. E. Walker officiated at the graveside.
