Obituary (Daily Register, 28 March 2011): Stella M. Pyle Hartford, 82, Corydon, Ky., formerly of Carrier Mills, died 11:42 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1929, in Stonefort to the late Coy and Lona Borum Barnett. She was first married to Claude Pyle, who died in 1999. She later married Homer Hartford, who preceded her in death. She was a former employee of the former Harrisburg Manufacturing.
She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Pyle Bailey of Corydon, Ky.; four grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maggie Yahne, Josephine Stout and Shirley Melvin; and a brother, Charles Barnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two sons, Charles W. Rogers and Vaughn Rogers; and a grandson, David Rogers.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Ownly Williams will officiate with burial to follow. Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery. Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.
