Susannah Lawrence was born 1838 in Merriott, Somerset, England to Luke Lawrence (1812-1883) and Sarah Osborne (1811-1890) and died 22 May 1903 Manning River, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes.

Immigration to New South Wales

Samuel Osborne & Susannah Lawrence, cousins, married in 1856 on Guernsey in the Channel Islands. (Samuel Osborne was the son of William and Temperance Osborne.) They returned to Merriott in time to baptise their son Samuel on 11 October 1857. They then emigrated to New South Wales in 1858 on board the FitzJames, the same ship as Susannah's parents. Her parents also brought to Australia her youngest siblings: Samuel aged 13, Joseph aged 10, Robert aged 4.

Susannah Lawrence's 1st-cousin William Osborne (1834-1913), the son of her uncle William Osborne and his wife Ann (and who was also a cousin of her husband Samuel Osborne), had immigrated with his wife Hannah Sweeet (1838-1923) (also a cousin) and family to NSW aboard the Alfred in 1857. Also on this ship was another cousin Joseph (aka Henry Joseph) Osborne (1827-1898) and his wife Mary Ann Lawrence.

Susannah's nephew George Eason (1856-1926) and his family also immigrated about 1881.
