Svyatoslav Rostislavich of Novgorod was born 1139 to Rostislav Mstislavich of Kiev (c1110-1167) and died 1170 of unspecified causes. He married Nomen nescio .

Svyatoslav Rostislavich (baptized presumably Ivan, circa 1139 [1] - 1170) - Prince of Novgorod (1157-1160, 1161-1168), the second son of Rostislav Mstislavich.

He was Prince of Novgorod during the periods of his father's reign in Kiev. For the first time expelled from Novgorod from 1160 to 1161, in favor of Mstislav Rostislavich nephew of Andrei Yuryevich of Bogolyubovo

when the latter gave his daughter in marriage to his nephew Izyaslav Davidovich, claimed to Kiev, and sent troops under Vshchizh against their southern rivals.

In 1164, a powerful Swedish fleet reached Ladoga, but was completely defeated by troops coming from Novgorod led by Svyatoslav and his posadnik Zakharya, losing 43 ships at the same time.

The second time he lost his title of Prince of Novgorode after his father's death in favor of the son of a new Grand Prince of Kiev, Mstislav Izyaslavich.

Svyatoslav married in 1170 (his wife is unknown), of the progeny known only in genealogical sources Rostislav Svyatoslavovich (most likely, died before his father).[2]
