Svyatoslav Vladimirovich of Smolensk, Prince of Smolensk
Prince of Pereyaslavl, was born 1080 to Vladimir II Vsevolodovich Monomakh of Kiev (1053-1125) and Gytha of Wessex (1053-1098) and died 6 March 1114 of unspecified causes.

In 1095 Vladimir Monomakh, while negotiating in Pereyaslavl with the Polovtsian khan Itlar, gave Svyatoslav to the Polovtsians as a hostage. At night Svyatoslav escaped from the Polovtsian camp, and the Polovtsians were killed.

During the reign of his father in Pereyaslavl was his governor in Smolensk [1]. After the death of Svyatopolk Izyaslavich in 1113 and the occupation of the Grand Duke Vladimir Monomakh became Grand Prince of Kiev, Svyatoslav became Prince of Pereyaslavl, and his place in Smolensk was taken by Vyacheslav Vladimirovich. After Svyatoslav's death in 1114, the Prince of Pereyaslavl became Yaropolk Vladimirovich.
