Biography
Neither the year of birth nor the exact year of Svyatoslav Yaroslavich's death are known. He participated in the struggle for the rule of the Principality of Novgorod between Dmitri Aleksandrovich of Pereyaslavl and Vasili Yaroslavich of Kostroma from 1272 to 1277. Svyatoslav supported the claims of the latter for the reign of Novgorod. Being an ally of Vasili Yaroslavich, he attacked the Novgorod "suburbs" of Volokolamsk, Bezhetsk and Vologda. The conflict between Tver and Pereyaslavl continued after the death of Vasili Yaroslavich and lasted until the beginning of the 1290s. After the military campaign against Dmitrov in 1282, the name of Svyatoslav's name is not mentioned by the annals any more.
