Mr. Sydney James Marks, late of Pacific Parade, Dee Why, and for many years a resident of Crookwell, passed away on October 7 last at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, after a short illness.

The deceased, who had reached the age of 79 years, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vida Marks, three sons, Harold, Oswald and Noel and two married daughters, Mrs. R. Ison and Mrs. P. Cochran. Also surviving are two brothers, Mr. Arthur Marks, of Orange, and Mr. Percy Marks, of Crookwell, and 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The late Mr. Marks was for many years a highly respected and trusted builder in Crookwell and district and following his retirement he spent the last 25 years at Dee Why.

His many friends knew him as a man of sterling character and he was an affectionate husband and devoted father.

After an impressive service at St. John's Church of England, Dee Why, he was buried at French's Forest cemetery on October 9. The officiating minister was the Rev. F. Saunders, of Dee Why.
