Biography

After the war he worked in various coal mines in Western Wyoming and in later years would take his son Robert to visit some of those sites.

Sylvester worked on Hoover Dam construction project from 1931 up to his marriage in in 1934. Being a staunch democrat he refused to acknowledge it's republican name and always referred to it as "Boulder Dam". After returning to Wyoming he got employed by the Union Pacific Railroad and operated steam trains from the Evanston, Wyoming roundhouse and operated on the route from Green River, Wyoming to Ogden, Utah until reaching retirement age. He made his family home at 1500 Center Street, just a couple blocks up the hill from the Evanston Roundhouse.

His hobbies included fishing in the wooded hills of Western Wyoming.

He died from complications from emphysema which was first instigated from his many years working in the coal mines.
