D'Arcy of Moycullen & Oughterard Dave Riley (View posts) Posted: 5 Jul 2004 2:49PM GMT Classification: Query Edited: 25 Feb 2005 7:28PM GMT Surnames: D'Arcy, Sullivan Looking for descendants of John D'Arcy and Mary Sullivan who married 01 March 1859 in the Carna parish (possibly Loughaconeera where it is believed Mary lived), but later lived in Moycullen. Their lnown children - all born in Newtown, Moycullen, were: John - 07 May 1868 Mary #1 - 08 Jun 1870 Mary #2 - 14 Mar 1873 Margaret - 22 Feb 1874 Andrew - 12 May 1879

The Porridgetown connection derives only from a comment from one of their living cousins in Kilkieran, Carna who mentioned Porridgetown as their residence. But their known children were all born in Newtown, Moycullen. Perhaps they moved to Porridgetown at a later date.

I do have some D'Arcy data extracted from the Irish civil records in the Oughterard area.

Looking for anyone who might be researching this family.

I also found other children born before John; Thomas 1860, Bridget 1861, Patrick Dec 1862, Michael 1866, Mary Ellen 1876 & then Anne 16/11/1883. Anne is my great grandmother, she married a William Faherty from Islandmore, Moycullen. from the 1911 Census it stated that John & Mary had 10 children 7 of those still alive in April 1911.

Abigail Duerr (View posts) Posted: 24 Sep 2013 8:46PM GMT Classification: Query Hi there! Margaret Mary D'Arcy was my great grandmother. Daughter of James D'Arcy and Mary Sullivan (whom I look eerily simlar to), she married Joshua Leach Cox and had six children, one of whom is my grandfather. She passed in the mid 70's in Hot Springs, South Dakota. I'd love any information about that side of the family. It's been difficult for me to find thus far. Hope you still read this. Thanks, Abigail
