Descent from Edward I of England[]

Marianne Dillow (a frequent contributor to soc.gen.medieval) says the "Eltonhead line goes to Edward I, King of England". It's part of her ancestry. Robin Patterson 09:17, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Added note:

This has been modified as there is one generation in question with Eltonhead and Savage to Richard I. As of this date, March 21,2009, this has not been proven one way or the other. Research continues but Martha Eltonhead through her mother Ann Sutton that married Richard Eltonhead does go to Henry II, King of England according to Plantagenet Ancestry, 2005, by Douglas Richardson. The lineage is as follows:

The lineage of Eltonhead Conway to Henry II[]

Birth and marriage dates[]

Birth 1628 seems unlikely for a 1642 marriage and more unlikely for a 1640.

Even 1625 is a little late for a traditional 1640 wedding.

And which side of the Pond was the wedding?

Any real research out there?

I invited Marianne Dillow to comment on the various birth years in relation to the two marriage years. She was clear about the birth year: 1628. — Robin Patterson (Talk) 02:27, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

A second Martha Eltonhead?[]

If we ever get a second one, we will need to give her page a distinctive name, linked from this one. This one is so well known that she deserves primacy in page naming, not just listing on a hndis page. — Robin Patterson (Talk) 01:55, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
