Tassilo III. von Bayern, Duke of Bavaria, was born circa 741 to Odilo von Bayern (c705-748) and Hiltrud (-754) and died circa 796 of unspecified causes. He married Liutperga of Lombardy (bef770-) 770 ^JL .

Tassilo became duke under the protection of Pepin the Short, but the title was taken away from him by his cousin and brother-in-law Charlemagne. He and his family were forced into monasteries in 788.
