"Thomas Fouleshurst, esquire, of Crewe in Cheshire, arrived in Leicestershire through his marriage to Joan, daughter and heir of Baldwin FitzPiers of Glenfield. He was returned as a knight of the shire for Leicestershire in 1423 and again in 1431. In 1431 he was also appointed to the commission to raise a loan in the county. His last recorded appointment was as sheriff in 1433. Thomas failed to appear before the tax commissioners in Leicestershire in 1436, though he may have been taxes in Chester for which a tax return does not survive. The last reference to Thomas is in Januray 1439 when he tried to recover a dept of 200 marks from John Brewster of Warwick. Elizabeth Fouleshurst who married William Turville was probably Thomas's daughter.
