Col. Thomas Howe I was born 22 July 1656 in Sudbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts to John Howe (1620-1680) and Mary Martha Jones (1618-1698) and died 16 February 1733 Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. He married Sarah Shepard (1659-1683) 1679 in Sudbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He married Sarah Hosmer (1658-1724) 8 June 1681 in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
Biography
Thomas Howe I was born in Sudbury MA shortly before his father's family relocated into the new township of Marlborough MA. Thomas went on to become one of the most prominent citizens of Marlborough. He held many principal town offices, assessor, selectman, etc and was deputy to the General Court.
King Philips War 1675
He fought in King Philip's War and participated in a severe engagement against the Indians at Lancaster MA. He became colonel of his regiment and was the most prominent military man in his section.
He was one of His Majesty's justices of the peace. He kept a public house at Marlboro in 1696.
