Thomas Laycock was born 1786 in England, United Kingdom to Thomas Laycock (1756-1809) and Hannah Pearson (-1831) and died 7 November 1823 "Cottage Vale", Bringelly, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Isabella Bunker (1787-1817) 1 June 1809 in St Phillips, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He married Margaret Connell (c1797-1824) 8 July 1817 in St Phillips, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
He arrived in New South Wales on 21 September 1791 on the Gorgon with his mother.
He served in the War of 1812, returning to New South Wales in 1817.
