Thomas Musgrave was born December 1827 in Darlington, County Durham, England, United Kingdom to Thomas Musgrave (1794-1867) and Jane Sewell (1798-1871) and died circa 1905 North Fayette, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States of unspecified causes. He married Ann Stewart (1832-1885) 14 June 1851 in St Helen Auckland, County Durham, England, United Kingdom.
Thomas Musgrave was born in December 1827 in Darlington, County Durham, England, the son of Thomas Musgrave and Jane Musgrave nee Sewell. Thomas married in 1851 to Ann Stewart who was a quarter Scottish. They had a number of children inbetween 1852 and 1871 in Co Durham. In December 1885, Anne Musgrave died aged 53 in Burnopfield, Co Durham, not far from Newcastle.
After his wife died, what with his older children married, and one in America, Thomas and his youngest daughter Margaret decided to start afresh in America. So Thomas and Margaret travelled to Liverpool to board a ship to Philadelphia, over 3000 miles away.
Thomas and his daughter boarded the Lord Gough steamship which left England in August 1886, for the 11 day journey across the Atlantic Ocean, stopping at Queenstown, Ireland. The ship docked in Philadelphia on the 5th September 1886. Thomas settled in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. He returned to England in about 1890 and then sailed again back to America in April 1892 aboard the Lord Clive, this time for good and never to return to England.
He is on the 1900 census in North Fayette, PA. He was aged 72 and a gentleman. He was living with his daughter Elizabeth and son in law Robert Sutherland. Thomas gave his month and year of birth in the 1900 US census as that was required for that census. Thomas died in about 1905. His exact date of death is uncertain but he was supposedly dead by the time BMD registration begun in Pennsylvania on 1 January 1906. This is probably buried at Robinson Run Cemetery, North Fayette, Allegheny, PA.
