Thomas Sharpe was born 3 March 1770 to Thomas Sharpe (bef1770) and Ann unknown (bef1770) and died 29 January 1823 Richmond, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Martha Burrell (1775-1852) 13 March 1810 in St Phillips, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

He joined the New South Wales Corps in Oxford, England on 7 March 1791. He arrived in New South Wales on 17 September 1793 on the Sugar Cane as a soldier. He was discharged 25 March 1814.

The IGI (here) lists an extracted church register for his christening. Many sources give his christening date as his date of birth, often with a place of "Honeybone, Gloucestershire, England", which looks like a corruption of the actual place name.
