Vasili Konstantinovich (1291-1316) - Prince of Rostov
The younger son of Prince Konstantin Borisovich of Rostov. In the annals we find only two information about this prince: under the year 1291 they celebrate his birth, and under the year 1316 we meet with the information that this prince came from the Golden Horde with Tatar envoys, Kazanchi and Sabanchey, who “created many evils in Rostov” . Since at that time there was a struggle for the grand prince's dignity between the Prince of Tver Mikhail Yaroslavich of Tver (1271-1318) and Moscow Yuri Danilovich of Moscow (1281-1325) , around which the rest of the princes of Northeast Russia were grouped, it must be assumed that the coming of Vasili from the Golden Horde with the Tatars was related to this fight.
Prince Vasili was married to an unknown, from a marriage with whom he had sons Fyodor and Konstantin, under which the Principality of Rostov was divided into two parts. Vasili Konstantinovich died, probably in the year 1316.
