- Welcome Chapman (1805-1893) - Early LDS Pioneer / Branch President of the church in Manti, Utah. Born in Readsboro, Vermont, a town co-founded by his grandfather Throope Chapman (1734-1794), was a stone cutter who worked on the Nauvoo Temple and the Salt Lake Temple, and helped broker peace between the settlers and Chief Wakara's tribe.
