Wesley Blake Empey was born 19 April 1918 in St. George, Washington County, Utah to Martin Joseph Empey (1884-1920) and Kate Bleak (1891-1975) and died 17 January 1944 Marshall Islands of unspecified causes.
Killed in action in Central Pacific (Marshall Islands) 16 Jan 1944 during World War II He had been located on the Gilberts and was helping to bomb the Marshalls. His companions saw him go down in the ocean not far from an island held by the Japanese.
