William's biography (1903) says "son of Levi G. and Abbie (Barrell) Kendall"); his marriage record (1882) gives father as "Levi G. Kendall" and mother as "Louisa M. Kendall" (but the latter is actually his stepmother). The 1860 census lists "Willie Kendall" living with "L.G." and "Abby" Kendall. The 1880 census lists "W.B. Kendall" as the son of "L.G. Kendall"

The date and place are given in William's biography (1903), and the place is given in his marriage record with Josephine (1882). The 1860 census (with L.G. and Abby Kendall) gives "Willie's" age as 2 and birthplace as NY. The 1880 census (with L.G. and Louisa M. Kendall) gives his age as 23 and birthplace as N.Y.
