William was the 4th child of Jabez and Alice. After marrying Sarah Jane Gifford they lived on William's farm at Nangus and all of their children were born there.
Sarah Jane died 3 Feb 1915 of pneumonia and is buried in Nangus cemetery.
William worked at Tenandra Park at Nangus and the Water Works at Wagga. During WW2 he worked for the Railway's as a carpenter and after that spent time in Captain's Flat also working as a carpenter.
Late in life William married Minnie Seymour living on Frederick Boyton's property "Clearview" for a while before retiring to Illabo and then Junee. Both William and Minnie passed away on the same day 20 Aug 1965 in June and are both buried in Nangus Cemetery near Jabez and the rest of the family.
One story William's son Herbert would tell us grandchildren was his father saw the bushranger Captain Moonlite following the siege at Wantabadgery. The police had made camp opposite their house in Nangus, and William, then about 4 or 5 (1879) saw the captured bushrangers and bodies being taken back to Gundagai.
