William was born in 1717. He died while serving in the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. William served as a private in Captain Thomas Knowlton's Company, Colonel Israel Putnam's 3rd Regiment, Connecticut during the Revolutionary War. He was killed in the Battle of Bunker Hill by a chain-shot. He had only enlisted on May 1, 1775, 1 month and 16 days before he was killed. He received 30 acres of land in Pomfret, Windham County, CT from his Uncle William.
