William Choate was born 15 February 1757 in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States to Stephen Choate (1732-1775) and Bathsheba Newton (1730-1810) and died 5 October 1830 Blenheim, Schoharie County, New York, United States of unspecified causes. He married Elizabeth Garner (c1760-1823) 12 April 1781 in Wilmington, Windham County, Vermont, United States.

- Mass. He married, April 12, 1781, Elizabeth Garner, daughter of William
- Garner. They resided in Wilmington, Vt., removed in 1787 to Shelburne,
- Mass., and after a few years to Blenheim, N. Y. Mr. Choate died Nov. 20, 1830.
- Mrs. Choate died Oct. 5, 1823.
