He married Mary Ann Hibbard (c1860-1942) .

Obituary
Mr. Wm. Cullen-Ward, F.C.P A., F.S.S., (senior partner of the firm of Messrs. Cullen- Ward, public accountants, died yesterday morning at his residence, Ellerslie, Birrell street, Waverley, after a short illness, extending from August 18. Mr. Cullen-Ward, who was born in London, came to Australia in 1883.
He passed the entrance examination to the Royal College of Surgeons, England, in 1872, was an Associate of Arts of Oxford, a member of the Royal Statistical Society, and a member of the council, and an examiner of the Sydney Institute of Public Accountants, now absorbed by the Australasian Corporation of Public Accountants, of which body he was a Fellow. He was for some years auditor, and for 7½ years an alderman, of the Balmain Municipal Council, and a Past Master of Balmain Masonic Lodge. Mr. Cullen-Ward was also joint hon. treasurer of the Liberal and Reform party in 1898.
The deceased has left a widow and seven sons and two daughters. His sons are:— Messrs. Rex and Rupert Cullen-Ward, who were associated with him in the business, Mr. Stanley Cullen-Ward (Mombasa), Mr. Eric Cullen-Ward (Vancouver), Douglas, G. B., and Llew Cullen-Ward (Sydney). His daughters are Mrs. F. W. Clarke and Miss Cullen-Ward.
