William Edwin Stickler was born 20 February 1878 in Harleigh, Pennsylvania, United States to Issac Mealing Stickler (1848-1910) and Martha Ann Hill (1857-1941) and died 22 June 1926 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of unspecified causes. He married Jeanetta Mussino (1879-1935) 20 June 1901 Methodist parsonage in Lansford, Pennsylvania, United States.

William Edwin, the third child of Isaac and Martha Ann Stickler, was born 1878 in Harleigh, PA, a small coal-mining town near Hazleton. He moved with his family to Lansford, PA in 1885. He grew-up in Lansford and when he was twenty-one, his father Isaac applied for a full Scholarship ($57.50) for William to study electrical engineering at the School of Scranton, Scranton, PA. William married Jeanette Mussino of Williamsport, PA. on June 1901, the daughter of Reverend Mussino at the Methodist parsonage, in Lansford.

William worked as a coal miner in Lansford and later became an engineer. When John James Stickler (1863-1932) travelled to England with his family in the summer of 1911, William was put temporarily in charge of Colliery No. 11.

William Stickler and Jeanette Mussino had seven children; their eldest son, Mealing, was named after William's great grandmother, Jane Mealing of Pucklechurch, England.

William died on 22 June 1926 in Philadelphia.
