William George Underdown was born 13 September 1863 in Bullock Creek, Sandhurst, Victoria, Australia to Thomas Underdown (1821-1876) and Rachel Harpur (c1829-1904) and died 26 May 1916 Cannon street, Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia of stroke.
Obituary
Shortly before 9 o'clock yesterday morning Mr. William G. Underdown, a wharf laborer, 51 years of age, residing with his nephew, Mr. Robert John Matthews, Cannon street, Port Adelaide, was seized with a paralytic stroke. He was working on the steamer Indarra when he was noticed to suddenly stagger and fall. He was immediately removed to the Port Adelaide Casualty Hospital, where he was examined by Dr. Cherry. After lingering until 12.35 p.m. he succumbed. Deceased had been attacked by a paralytic stroke sometime ago, but recovered. The doctor is willing to grant a death certificate with the coroner's consent
