Offspring of William Cole Family (1500-1611) andSusan Bale (c1564-1609), Susan was born about 1564 in Littlebentley, Essex, England and died in 1609 in London, Middlesex, England
According to the sourace cited below: William James Cole was the son of William Cole and Elizabeth Deards. William Cole, William Cole's grandfather, was born in 1520 and died in England in 1600. He was married (no date given) to Anne Colles, born in 1524 in London, and they had three sons and a daughter. William Cole, William Jame's father (no prefix given or used) was born in 1546 and was married to Elizabeth Deards who was born in 1550 in London, England; William and Eilizabeth were probably married in 1569 in Essex County, England. William James, their first born, was born about a year later in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland. All the lineage is plausible. For instance, Anne Colles would have been 22 when William was born to her and William (elder). William (elder) would have been 26 at the time. William (younger) would have been 24 and Elizabeth Deards 20 when William James was born. However, after William James' birth the dates make no sense. Further research is needed to confirm or (more likely) correct this information.
According to the source cited below, William James Cole was born a year or less after his parents were married, and only the year of birth is given. Perhaps he was born in Ireland instead of England, because William Cole, his father, was descended from nobility or the gentry-class, as it appears was his mother, Elizabeth Deards. If she was pregnant when married, then it was not uncommon at the time to go to another country to have the child to spare family scandal, then return a few months after the child was born, hiding the actual date of birth (similar to Edith Crowley of Downton Abbey). Notice, no month and day is given in official records. It is also plausible that William Cole, being of nobility, was dispatched to Northern Ireland to serve the King is some special capacity (see the "Remains" footnote below). However, If William James Cole was born in 1570 and married Susan Bale in 1585, then he would have been only 15 years old at the time of their marriage when she would have been 21, if she was born in 1564. According to the source cited, the children of William James and Susan (Bale) Cole are James (born about 1600), Job (1605), John (1610), Daniel (1613), Zaccheus (1618) and Nathaniel (1620), all born after William James died; and if Susan was born in 1564, then she was 56 when she had Nathaniel! While the lineage seems plausible, the dates don't make sense. William James and Susan would have been married 15 years, and him 30 years old and her 36 years old, before having a child. Further research needs to be performed to confirm or correct these dates.
Although William James Cole was born in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, where a Cole monument exists as a tribute to Honourable Sir Galbraith Lowry Cole, C.B. Colonel of the 27th Regiment, erected from 1845 to 1857, I can find no information about where his body is buried. Please check out the source cited below for a very interesting tour of Enniskillen that includes the Watergate, built by William Cole in 1614 as a feature to show off his new Manor House. Acording to the website, William Cole became costable of Enniskillen castle in 1609. The original castle was constructed around 1439. *BRColeSr
