Biography
Yuri's father, Prince Patrikas Narimuntovich, left the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1408 to serve the Grand Prince of Moscow Vasili I Dmitriyevich, along with Prince Svidrigailoy. Due to a close kinship with the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Patrikas was met with respect. And his son Yuri enjoyed the respect of Vasili I [1] and in 1418 [2] intermarried with the Grand Prince, due to which he took first place among the Moscow boyars [3] . According to sources, Yuri Patrikeyevich "dropped in" many of the boyars of Basil I [4][5].
In 1425, Yuri Patrikeyevich was mentioned by one of the witnesses in the will of Grand Prince Vasili I [1][2]..
In 1433, Yuri Patrikeyevich was sent by Grand Prince Vasili II at the head of the army to Kostroma against the Galician princes Vasili Kosoy and Dmitri Shemyaka. However, in the battle that took place at the Kus river Yuri's army was defeated, and he himself was taken prisoner [1][2][6].
In 1439, Vasili II, who went to raise troops, fearing a raid of Ulugh Muhammad, left Yuri Patrikeyevich for the defense of Moscow [1][2][7] .
After 1439 there was no news of Yuri Patrikeyevich. His place in the Boyar Duma was inherited by the younger son Ivan [7], while the eldest son, Vasili, apparently, died early [8].
Marriage and children
According to the genealogists, in 1418 Yuri Patrikeyevich married Anna Dmitriyevna, the daughter of Grand Prince Dmitri Ivanovich Donskoy. [2] However, the chronicles report that Yuri's wife was Maria Vasilyevna, the daughter (and not the sister) of Grand Prince Vasili I [5].
