The Zhou dynasty (周朝) was a Chinese dynasty that followed the Shang dynasty and preceded the Qin dynasty . It begin in 1046 BCE and lasted until 256 BCE. It can be divided into Western Zhou (西周) and Eastern Zhou (东周). It is the longest lasting dynasty in Chinese history.[1][2]
